Summer: A Time for Reflection and Growth

In a previous blog, I explored how life’s constant evolution shapes who we are. As we experience new thoughts, feelings, and situations, we inevitably become someone new. If you haven’t read it yet, you can find it out here.

Summer provides a perfect time to explore this idea further.

The season often invites us to pause and reflect. Whether you’ve been watching the sea, breathing in the fresh countryside air, or discussing life with friends over drinks in a garden, these moments offer a chance to consider your journey through recent changes and challenges.

These reflections can help clarify your desires and guide you in making thoughtful decisions about your future. As a coach, I see these moments as valuable insights—tools that can help you navigate your path and shape your goals.

Pause :

Have you recently noticed how new experiences have transformed you? What changes have you gone through lately? Reflect for a moment—how have these shifts influenced your thoughts and feelings?

Even as we grow, new realities don’t always match our expectations. Perhaps you feel disappointed, confused, or challenged by the path you’re on?

In these moments, advice often comes from all directions. Friends and relatives  offer well-meaning guidance. While their support is comforting and insightful, have you ever wondered why your own path still feels unclear?

Once again I recall:

"Each time one prematurely teaches a child something he could have discovered himself, that child is kept from understanding completely."
—Jean Piaget (1896–1980)

Children learn best through discovery—by exploring, experimenting, and finding things out for themselves. When they do, they gain a full understanding that sticks with them.

Reflect on this:

What lessons have stayed with you because you learned them on your own? How might this principle apply to your life today?

Pause and Reflect:

  • What if, like children, adults could discovered their own solutions rather than being told what to do?

  • Have you considered that your most profound insights might come from within?

  • How often do you explore your thoughts and feelings without external influence?

As you navigate your own path, consider asking yourself: "What does my intuition tell me?"

By seeking your own answers, you not only address the immediate issue but also gain deeper self-awareness and ownership of your decisions. Imagine the empowerment that comes from trusting yourself in this way.

Action Step: Explore Your Intuition

Take some time today to ask yourself:

  • "If I choose this path, how might I feel? What might happen?"

  • "If I don’t, what could the consequences be? How would that make me feel?"

Allow your intuition to guide you. Jot down your thoughts or discuss them with someone who can listen without judgment. How does it feel to trust yourself?

Seek Support When Ready

Once you’ve gained clarity, consider:

  • "Do I need help to achieve what I want?"

  • "What kind of support would be most beneficial for me right now?"

Remember, seeking support doesn’t mean relinquishing your autonomy—it’s about finding the right resources to help you on your journey. First, trust in your ability to discover your path. The lessons you uncover on your own will serve you for a lifetime.

"That which we allow him to discover by himself will remain with him visibly for the rest of his life."
—Jean Piaget
